The Durham Regional Police Association has been honoured to host the Annual Ontario Police Memorial golf tournament, which, over the past nine years, has raised over $192,000 for the Ontario Police Memorial Foundation through its participants and generous sponsors.

We regretfully advise both our long-time and more recent participants and supporters this year’s tournament will be postponed until 2019 due to the withdrawal of our major sponsor. 

Without the sponsorship of this major company, the tournament is no longer a fiscally viable venture and with such short notice, we are unable to secure another sponsor who is able to provide the support we require to ensure a successful event.  As a result, registrations and payments that have been received for this year’s event will be returned.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however, we will be reorganizing the tournament and look forward to your participation next year.

Foundation Created to Honour Ontario Police Officers

The Durham Regional Police Association presented a cheque for $25,000.00 to the Ontario Police Memorial Foundation following its annual golf tournament.  Since its inception in 2010, the tournament has raised over $171,000.00.  Members of the community and beyond picked up their golf clubs, and their wallets, in support of the fundraiser.

The foundation was created to honour Ontario police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and a Ceremony of Remembrance is held at Queen’s Park each year on the first Sunday in May. We encourage you to search the OPMF website (www.opmf.ca) to understand the scope of your contribution, and how it helps families of officers who have dedicated their lives to their work and their communities
