Foundation Created to Honour Ontario Police Officers

Colin Goodwin, of the Durham Regional Police Association, thanked all members and volunteers who worked so hard to make this event happen.

Colin Goodwin, of the Durham Regional Police Association, thanked all members and volunteers who worked so hard to make this event happen.

The Durham Regional Police Association presented a cheque for $25,000.00 to the Ontario Police Memorial Foundation following its annual golf tournament.  Since its inception in 2010, the tournament has raised over $171,000.00.  Members of the community and beyond picked up their golf clubs, and their wallets, in support of the fundraiser.

The foundation was created to honour Ontario police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and a Ceremony of Remembrance is held at Queen’s Park each year on the first Sunday in May. We encourage you to search the OPMF website (www.opmf.ca) to understand the scope of your contribution, and how it helps families of officers who have dedicated their lives to their work and their communities

Colin Goodwin, of the Durham Regional Police Association, thanked all members and volunteers who worked so hard to make this event happen. Colin and his tournament co-chair, Andrew Tummonds, were thankful for everyone’s generosity and are pleased to see the event continue to grow each year.

Special thanks go out to Sobey’s, our major sponsor, and to ISN, for their generous donations and dedication to which help bring this tournament to fruition. Also, without the support of all of the corporate sponsors and team of volunteers, the tournament would not have been the great success that it was.

We have secured a date of Wednesday August 23, 2017 at Deer Creek for this year’s tournament.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, and with great thanks,
Colin Goodwin & Andrew TummondsTournament Co-Chairs
